What other paperwork do I need to export a cultural object?
When you leave Bulgaria, you must show the export permission and, if export is to a country
outside the EU, you must also show the EU export licence.
When you enter Russia, you must show all the relevant documentation and declare the object
at customs, passing through the Red channel. See Chapter 4 for further information.
What are the penalties if I do something wrong?
If you export cultural goods in violation of the law, the punishment is a fine or confiscation
of property, from 12,000 to 24,000 leva.
What are the requirements if I want to import cultural goods into Bulgaria from Russia?
There are no specialised regulations on the import of valuable cultural goods. Import follows
the normal procedures under the Customs Tariff which is available in English on the
Customs Agency website.
