Czech Republic<br />
If you are taking <strong>the</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> outside <strong>the</strong> EU, <strong>to</strong> <strong>Russia</strong> for example, you must<br />
also show:<br />
• EU <strong>export</strong> licence<br />
When you enter <strong>Russia</strong>, you must show all <strong>the</strong> relevant documentation <strong>and</strong> declare <strong>the</strong> object<br />
at Cus<strong>to</strong>ms, passing through <strong>the</strong> Red channel. See Chapter 4 for fur<strong>the</strong>r information.<br />
What are <strong>the</strong> penalties if I do something wrong?<br />
The Ministry <strong>of</strong> Culture is entitled <strong>to</strong> apply penalties <strong>to</strong> breaches <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> legislation by applying<br />
fines. The amounts <strong>and</strong> specifications are described in <strong>the</strong> legislation. Fines can<br />
also be imposed on <strong>the</strong> Specialist Organisations if <strong>the</strong>y fail <strong>to</strong> discharge <strong>the</strong>ir duties in<br />
certain circumstances.<br />
What are <strong>the</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> service I can expect <strong>to</strong> receive?<br />
St<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> service for <strong>the</strong> procedures involving <strong>the</strong> <strong>export</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> can be<br />
found on <strong>the</strong> Ministry <strong>of</strong> Culture’s website: http://www.mkcr.cz/. Timeframes for delivery<br />
<strong>of</strong> licences are incorporated in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> legislation.<br />
What are <strong>the</strong> requirements if I want <strong>to</strong> <strong>import</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic from<br />
<strong>Russia</strong>?<br />
There are no special formalities for <strong>the</strong> <strong>import</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong>.<br />
Importers <strong>of</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic should be aware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following: Czech<br />
legislation does not specify <strong>import</strong>ed <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong>. If an object is located in <strong>the</strong> terri<strong>to</strong>ry<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic, both legally <strong>and</strong> permanently, <strong>and</strong> if it meets <strong>the</strong> relevant criteria<br />
(i.e. <strong>the</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> described in <strong>the</strong> various legislation listed above), it is deemed <strong>to</strong><br />
belong <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Czech <strong>cultural</strong> heritage. However, <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>goods</strong> which are <strong>import</strong>ed <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Czech Republic under <strong>the</strong> regime <strong>of</strong> temporary use are exempted.<br />
