is to be given in the form of a comparison with a<br />
!• washerman who uses the greatest effort in removing just<br />
the most insignificant spots from a garment, 1 this being<br />
an indirect indication that the order in which the antidotes<br />
are to become originated is: the most inferior of<br />
the inferior etc. (up to the highest of the high which<br />
removes the most subtle forms of defilement). In such<br />
a form we have an indication of the following:—At the<br />
final moment of the Path of Concentrated Contemplation<br />
we have the intuition (which directly precedes the full<br />
Enlightenment). 2 It represents the cognition of the<br />
equality, the illusionary character of all elements of existence,<br />
through the negation of (the separate reality of)<br />
knowledge and its object 3 in all the 3 Spheres of Existence'.<br />
It has thus the character of that which includes<br />
all the antidotes (against the Obscurations). Thus, by<br />
refuting the objection, i.e. by putting forth the final<br />
moment of the Path of Concentrated Contemplation as<br />
the highest of the highest forms of the antidote and by<br />
ascertaining the essential nature of this intuition, we come<br />
to a correct point of view regarding the absolute purification<br />
of the 1 Buddha.<br />
