6.8 Vehicle Location
Transferring the GPS protocols of a Falcom STEPP to an alarm centre, which
should be equipped with a Falcom SWING, TANGO or an A2D-1 as a GSM
modem, can be done in the following ways:
• Via a data line which has been initiated in the STEPPconfig.
• Via recurring SMS transmission, which was initiated after a SMS &REQ
POS was sent to the Falcom STEPP.
• Via a data line, which was initiated by STEPPconfig after a SMS
&REQ [Password] CONNECT
was sent to the Falcom STEPP. After receiving the SMS, Falcom STEPP
will automatically establish a data line to the number entered under , and transfer the NMEA protocols.
• Via a data line which was triggered by Falcom STEPP due to an alarm.
The configuration in Falcom STEPP could be:
$PSRF108,KEY1=D01234567,Alarm 1*73
In case of an alarm, this would establish a data line by activating alarm
input 1 to the telephone number 01234567.
Via a data line from any GSM modem, provided no entries have been made to
the list “authorized phone numbers”
From a GSM modem whose number has been entered into the list of
“authorised phone numbers”, and if that number has been flagged with a
for data, or if no flag has been set for the type of call.
In the latter case, a data line will always be established.
Important information:
1. The number contained in the list of “authorized phone numbers” must
match exactly with the number transmitted via the GSM network.
2. The transmission of one’s own number via the GSM network must not be
deactivated (AT+CLIR=0 or 2).
3. Each telephone number may only appear once into the list of “authorized
phone numbers”.
A duplicated entry with different call type flags is not allowed.
