4.3.9.1 Voice channel

The voice channel of Falcom STEPP allows you to conduct a normal telephone
conversation. For this, Falcom STEPP operates in free-speech mode.
Requirements are to connect a loud speaker (pins 9 and 10) and a free-speech
microphone (pins 7 and 8) to the audio interface of the Falcom STEPP.
Falcom STEPP will automatically answer an incoming call after the second or
third ring.
Please note: Condition for receiving an incoming call is that the caller’s
number has been configured with the “Voice” flag in the list of
authorized numbers for Falcom STEPP.
4.3.9.2 Alarm channel
The alarm channel allows you to establish a voice line to a Falcom STEPP,
without activating the loud speaker connected to the Falcom STEPP (listen-in
mode).
In this case, plug a free-speech microphone (pins 1 and 3) into the 16-pin
Molex plug connector to the audio interface on the Falcom STEPP.
Please note: Condition for receiving an incoming call is that the caller’s
number has been configured with the “Alarm” flag in the list of
authorized numbers for Falcom STEPP.
