Standard Inserts<br />

The ModBORE system uses industry-standard carbide to assist in reducing tool inventories.<br />

Inserts are available in a wide variety of high-performance Kennametal grades,<br />

coatings, and chip-control geometries to handle your specific machining applications.<br />

Build to Length<br />

Increase boring reach with KM extensions or reducers to customize the tool to meet your specific requirements.<br />

Limited Component Requirements<br />

Seven tools cover the entire product range.<br />

Through-Coolant<br />

Use of coolant improves tool life and surface finish, and promotes chip evacuation.<br />

All KM ModBORE tooling provides through coolant.<br />

Accurate Adjustment<br />

Precision-ground micrometric screw enables fine adjustment for diameter settings.<br />

The adjustment is free from backlash and play. Each division indicator<br />

on the dial equals .0004" (0,01mm) on diameter.<br />

Strong Locking Mechanism<br />

Diameter setting does not change when tool is “locked-in” for operation.<br />

Bore size stays consistent even at high RPMs.<br />

Optimum Cutting Geometry<br />

Inserts are located on tool centerline for accurate adjustment and performance.<br />

Limited Hardware Requirements<br />

Five different sizes of spare insert holders accommodate seven fine-boring tools.<br />
