ARMY TM 9-6115-464-34AIR FORCE TO 35C2-3-445-2NAVY NAVFAC P-8-624-34Section X. MAINTENANCE OF CONVENIENCE AND PARALLELING RECEPTACLESAND WIRING HARNESS3-79. GENERAL.a. All models of the generator set are equipped with a 125 volt, 15 amp convenience receptacle. Thereceptacle is equipped with a spring loaded weather cover and protected by a 15 amp circuit breaker.b. The paralleling receptacles permit interconnection of the voltage regulator assemblies of two or moregenerator sets for parallel operation. They are part of the convenience and paralleling receptacles wiringharness.3-80. CONVENIENCE RECEPTACLE AND CIRCUIT BREAKER.Refer to the Operator and Unit Maintenance Manual for convenience receptacle and circuit breakermaintenance instructions.3-81. CONVENIENCE AND PARALLELING RECEPTACLES WIRING HARNESS.a. Refer to the Operator and Unit Maintenance Manual for convenience and paralleling receptacles wiringremoval, cleaning, inspection, and repair instructions.b. If the wiring harness has sustained damage and requires repair or rebuild, refer to figure 3–99 for layout, identification, and material requirements and Appendix A for detailed soldering and replacement procedures.c. Refer to the Operator and Unit Maintenance Manual for installation instructions for the wiring harness.3-82. GENERAL.Section Xl. MAINTENANCE OF LOAD CONNECTION GROUPa. The load connection group consists of the voltage reconnection board, the main load contactor, the loadterminal board, the current transformers and the electromagnetic interference capacitor assembly.b. The voltage reconnection board consists of a stationary terminal board and a movable link–type board. Itprovides a means of connecting the two coils of each phase of the generator assembly to provide all specifiedoutput voltages. Simultaneously, it reconnects all other circuits necessary to convert the generator set from120/208 to 240/416 Vac operation.c. The voltage reconnection board is connected to the load terminal board through a three-polethree-phase main load contactor. This contactor is controlled by the circuit breaker switch of the control cubicleassembly. The main load contacts will automatically open when any of the protective devices actuate or whenthe START–RUN-STOP switch is placed in the STOP position.d. One lead of each of the two coils of each generator phase is connected directly to the voltagereconnection board. The remaining two leads of each phase pass through a three-window current transformer. The proportional current induced in the transformer is used by the static exciter and voltage regulator assemblyas a current boost. The leads then pass through a second three-window transformer. The proportional currentinduced in this transformer is used in the load measuring unit and the ammeter and watt-meter circuit of thecontrol cubicle. The leads of two of the generator phases then pass through a single-window crosscurrenttransformer. The current induced in the crosscurrent transformer is used for reactive power compensationduring parallel operation. Local voltage sensing and adjustment are accomplished across a single coil of theremaining phase.3-209
