APPLICATIONS KIT5-23. GENERAL.The applications kit provides the MEP–113A generator set with remote control of the emergency stop andbattle short capabilities, and remote low fuel monitoring. The kit consists of a connector plate, remote housingassembly, cable harness assembly, and electrical tiedown straps.NOTERemove the application kit before generator set is forwarded for depot maintenance.Application kit must be retained for installation on replacement generator set.5-24. TROUBLESHOOTING.Table 5-3 contains a list of malfunctions which is useful in diagnosing and correcting unsatisfactoryoperation or failure of the applications kit. Each malfunction is followed by a listing of probable causes. Thecorresponding listing of corrective actions references the applicable maintenance paragraph for the necessaryprocedures.NOTERefer to the Operator and Unit Maintenance Manual for troubleshooting informationapplicable to lower levels of maintenance.5-25. APPLICATIONS KIT INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL.a. Installation.WARNINGBefore maintenance, shut down AC power. Shut down DC power by removing thegenerator set battery cable from the negative terminal (–). High voltage will causedeath and/or burns. Open all doors and allow generator set to cool. Excessive heat willalso cause burns.(1) Connector Plate.(a)(b)Remove plug and sleeve assembly (1, figure 5-23) by removing six capscrews (2) andIockwashers (3) securing plate to generator housing. (Refer to the Operator and Unit MaintenanceManual for procedures.)Remove four corner capscrews and Iockwashers from cover plate leaving two center capscrewssecurely fastened to plate.NOTEPlace the four capscrews and Iockwashers in the marked bag supplied with theapplications kit and store in the generator set tool stowage compartment.(c)(d)Mount plate and sleeve assembly (1, figure 5-24) over cover plate (2). Secure using fourcapscrews (3), Iockwashers (4), and spacers (5) provided with applications kit.Feed cable harness assembly (1, figure 5-25), attached to connector plate assembly (2), throughthe opening made by the removal of plate and sleeve assembly.5-52
