GENERAL.Section Il. ELECTRIC WINTERIZATION KITThe electric winterization kit is used to maintain the engine coolant and lubricating oil at normal operatingtemperature in situations which require immediate starting of the generator set. It will function effectively downto an ambient temperature of -65°F (–53. 9°C). The kit consists of a heater assembly, a heater controlassembly, and interconnecting coolant lines and fittings and wiring harnesses. Power for operation of the kitmay be obtained from any 208 to 240 volt, 50/60 Hz or 400 Hz, single phase source.5-8. TROUBLESHOOTING.Table 5-2 contains a numerical list of malfunctions which is useful in diagnosing and correcting unsatisfactoryoperation or failure of the electric winterization kit. Each numbered malfunction is followed by annumerical listing of probable causes of the malfunction. The corresponding listing of corrective actions containsreferences to the applicable maintenance paragraphs for correcting the cause of the malfunction.NOTERefer to the Operator and Unit Maintenance Manual for troubleshooting informationapplicable to lower levels of maintenance.MALFUNCTIONTEST OR INSPECTIONTable 5-2.
