ARMY TM 9-6115-464-34AIR FORCE TO 35C2-3-445-2NAVY NAVFAC P-8-624-34(9) Place BATTLE SHORT switch in OFF position.NOTEThe AC circuit breaker indicator light should stay lit and the electric fuel pumps shouldcontinue to run, indicating that the REMOTE BATTLE SHORT is operational.(2) Remote stop function.NOTEThis test should be conducted immediately after testing the remote battIe shortfunction. Test leads and generator set controls and switches should not be changed.The circuit breaker indicator light must be lit and the fuel pumps must be operatingbefore continuing this test.(a)(b)Connect another test lead from negative terminal of generator set battery to pin J of connector J1(8).Connect another test lead from positive terminal of generator set battery to pin H of connector J1(8).NOTE(c)(d)The AC circuit breaker indicator light should go out and the fuel pumps should stopoperating, indicating that the REMOTE STOP is operational.Disconnect test leads from connector J1 and generator set battery.Return START-RUN-STOP switch to STOP position.(3) Low Fuel Monitoring Function.NOTEIf generator set main fuel tank has never been filled, disconnect fuel level sensorelectrical connector and ground this connector lead to generator set chassis beforeconducting this test.(a)(b)(c)(d)(e)Disconnect fuel level sensor electrical connector (2, figure 5-27) at main fuel tank.Place START–RUN-STOP switch in RUN position.Place BATTLE SHORT switch in ON position. Fuel pumps start to run, fuel gauge should registerFULL.Connect test leads of ohmmeter to pins E and M on connector J1 (8, figure 5-25). Ohmmetershould indicate continuity.Ground fuel level sensor connector to generator set chassis. Ohmmeter should read infinity (i.e.,open circuit) and FUEL LEVEL gauge should indicate EMPTY.NOTEThis test indicates that the low fuel monitoring function is operational.5-61
