CHASSIS 8-17CYLINDER RINGInspect the cylinder ring for wear or damage. If it is worn or damaged,replace it with a new one.NOTE:The ring should be installed onto the cylinder with its oil passagenotches 1 facing downward.REASSEMBLY AND REMOUNTINGMETALS AND SEALS• Hold the inner tube vertically and clean the metal groove andinstall the slide metal by hand as shown.* Use special care to prevent damage to the “Teflon”coated surface of the guide metal when mounting it.* When installing the oil seal to inner tube, be carefulnot to damage the oil seal lip.* Replace the removed metals and seal with new ones.* Apply fork oil to the metals and lip of the oil seal. 99000-99044-10G: SUZUKI FORK OIL G10• Assemble the following parts as shown.1 Oil seal2 Oil seal retainer3 Guide metal4 Slide metalNOTE:Stamped mark on the oil seal must face upward.• Install the oil lock piece 5 into the inner tube 6.• Install the inner tube into the outer tube with care not to dropthe oil lock piece out.NOTE:After installing the inner tube into the outer tube, keep the oillock piece into the inner tube by compressing the front fork fully.
