CHASSIS 8-59CALIPER INSTALLATIONInstall the caliper in the reverse order of removal. Pay attentionto the following points:• Install the brake pads. (8-55)• Install the brake caliper. (8-55)• Tighten each bolt to the specified torque. Front brake caliper mounting bolt: 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m)Front brake hose union bolt: 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m)* The seal washers should be replaced with new onesto prevent fluid leakage.* Bleed air from the system after reassembling the caliper.(2-25)After replacing the brake pads, pump the brake lever afew times to check for proper brake operation andthen check the brake fluid level.BRAKE DISC INSPECTION• Visually check the brake disc for damage or cracks.• Measure the thickness with a micrometer.• Replace the disc if the thickness is less than the service limitor if damage is found. Front disc thickness: Service Limit: 4.5 mm 09900-20205: Micrometer (0 – 25 mm)• Dismount the brake caliper.• Measure the runout with the dial gauge.• Replace the disc if the runout exceeds the service limit.
