2-26 PERIODIC MAINTENANCETIRESInspect every 6 000 km (12 months).TIRE TREAD CONDITIONOperating the motorcycle with excessively worn tires willdecrease riding stability and consequently invite a dangeroussituation. It is highly recommended to replace a tire when theremaining depth of tire tread reaches the following specification. 09900-20805: Tire depth gauge Tire tread depth:Service Limit: Front : 1.6 mmRear : 2.0 mmTIRE PRESSUREIf the tire pressure is too high or too low, steering will beadversely affected and tire wear will increase. Therefore, maintainthe correct tire pressure for good roadability and a longertire life. Cold inflation tire pressure is as follows. Cold inflation tire pressureSolo riding: Front: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm 2 )Rear: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm 2 )Dual riding: Front: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm 2 )Rear: 290 kPa (2.90 kgf/cm 2 )The standard tire fitted on this motorcycle is 120/70ZR17 M/C (58 W) for the front and 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) for the rear. The use of tires other than those specifiedmay cause instability. It is highly recommendedto use the specified tires. Overtighten steering preventssmooth turning of the handlebars and too loose steeringwill cause poor stability. Check that there is no play in the frontfork. Support the motorcycle so that the front wheel is off theground. With the wheel facing straight ahead, grasp the lowerfork tubes near the axle and pull forward.
