CHASSIS 8-23• Remove the steering stem upper bearing inner race 9 andbearing 0.INSPECTION AND DISASSEMBLYInspect the removed parts for the following abnormalities.* Handlebar distortion* Distortion of the steering stem* Bearing wear or damage* Abnormal bearing noise* Race wear or damageIf any abnormal points are found, replace defective parts withnew ones• Remove the steering stem lower bearing inner race with achisel.The removed bearing outer race must be replaced witha new one.• Drive out the steering stem bearing outer races (upper andlower) using the steel rod.The removed bearing outer race must be replaced witha new one.
