II/III.1 Analysis <strong>of</strong> Western art music II (6 credits)This course is a continuation <strong>of</strong> Analysis <strong>of</strong> Western Art Music I. It covers the theory and practice <strong>of</strong>Western art music from selected style periods. Emphasis is placed on typical harmonic and formalprocedures. Primary activities include in-depth analyses <strong>of</strong> selected works, drills on various harmonicsyntaxes, and short exercises in historical styles. Some computer-assisted self-study may be required.Assessment will be based on coursework (100%).
