The aim <strong>of</strong> the eLene4work project is to help students <strong>and</strong> <strong>new</strong> entrepreneurs develop s<strong>of</strong>t skills (<strong>of</strong>ten also<br />

referred to as 21st century skill, such as problem solv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a creative way, learn<strong>in</strong>g to learn, cooperation,<br />

effective <strong>and</strong> clear communication, adapt<strong>in</strong>g to different cultural contexts, manag<strong>in</strong>g conflicts, show<strong>in</strong>g<br />

endurance <strong>in</strong> complicated or stressful situations, etc.) skills required by companies <strong>of</strong> all sizes nowadays.<br />

The eLene4work outputs <strong>and</strong> services, therefore, are also aimed to help companies exploit the digital<br />

talents <strong>of</strong> young employees. The project proposes a strategic partnership whose goal is to test <strong>and</strong> monitor<br />

the possibility <strong>of</strong>fered by various means <strong>of</strong> <strong>open</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>distance</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g opportunities such as MOOCs <strong>and</strong><br />

OER to address the dem<strong>and</strong> for digital s<strong>of</strong>t skills (like e-collaboration, digital communication, social<br />

network participation, social media management <strong>and</strong> web 2.0 activities <strong>in</strong> general) formally not taught at<br />

universities but desirable by most employers on the labour market.<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong> the eLene4work project is to allow students to:<br />

• autonomously identify their own:<br />

a) gaps <strong>in</strong> s<strong>of</strong>t skills <strong>and</strong> competences, <strong>in</strong> order to develop or improve them;<br />

b) potential <strong>in</strong> digital s<strong>of</strong>t skills, to <strong>in</strong>crease their pr<strong>of</strong>essional attractiveness on the labour market;<br />

• autonomously learn how to:<br />

a) fill their skill gap us<strong>in</strong>g MOOCs (<strong>and</strong> other OERs)<br />

b) <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong> their CV their s<strong>of</strong>t skills <strong>and</strong> digital s<strong>of</strong>t skills <strong>in</strong> order to enhance the opportunity to enter<br />

the labour market.<br />

Students will learn to learn how to use <strong>and</strong> exploit their own digital competences <strong>and</strong> s<strong>of</strong>t skills on the<br />

labour market.<br />

Ma<strong>in</strong> target groups <strong>of</strong> the project: The various project outputs are be<strong>in</strong>g developed to bridge a clearly<br />

identifiable gap between what employers seek <strong>and</strong> job seekers can <strong>of</strong>fer <strong>in</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> today’s essential<br />

digital skills. From the educational po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> view both VET <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>and</strong> universities (deans, presidents,<br />

rectors, teachers as well as students) can benefit from the eLene4work services, while on the other h<strong>and</strong><br />

managers, HRs, entrepreneurs, chambers <strong>of</strong> commerce <strong>and</strong> company associations are also primary target<br />

stakeholders. The project’s secondary target audiences <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong>structional designers, e-learn<strong>in</strong>g experts,<br />

<strong>research</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> policy makers.<br />
