3.1 O Sistema Global de Manufatura (GMS)<<strong>br</strong> />

O Sistema Global de Manufatura, ou do inglês, GMS (Global Manufacturing<<strong>br</strong> />

System) é a estratégia que a General Motors adotou para migrar to<strong>da</strong>s as suas<<strong>br</strong> />

Plantas (Fá<strong>br</strong>icas) para um sistema <strong>com</strong>um de <strong>manufatura</strong>. To<strong>da</strong>s as áreas funcio<strong>na</strong>is<<strong>br</strong> />

<strong>da</strong> GM devem <strong>com</strong>preender e aplicar os princípios do GMS, além de demonstrar<<strong>br</strong> />

<strong>com</strong>prometimento e <strong>da</strong>r suporte, por meio do desenvolvimento de estratégias e<<strong>br</strong> />

planos, para sua <strong>implementação</strong>.<<strong>br</strong> />

O GMS, consiste <strong>na</strong> integração de 33 elementos dispostos em 05 princípios e<<strong>br</strong> />

suas categorias, conforme ilustrado <strong>na</strong> Figura 6.<<strong>br</strong> />
