ABSTRACT<<strong>br</strong> />

The present work had as objective evaluate results from Lean Manufacturing<<strong>br</strong> />

implementation, that in General Motors is called Global Manufacturing System,<<strong>br</strong> />

at S-10 model production plant, located in the city of São José dos Campos –<<strong>br</strong> />

São Paulo. Using a set of indicators integrated to the Business Plan of the<<strong>br</strong> />

Company it was evidenced the impact generated for the implementation of the<<strong>br</strong> />

Lean concepts in the production system. The assessment made considered the<<strong>br</strong> />

results from indicators before and after the implementation of Lean<<strong>br</strong> />

Manufacturing in the refereed line of production. By means of the reached<<strong>br</strong> />

results it was also proved that the implementation of Lean Manufacturing<<strong>br</strong> />

concepts in plants considered old (Brownfield) is not only possible as also can<<strong>br</strong> />

<strong>br</strong>ing advantageous results for the organization that adopts them. With the<<strong>br</strong> />

automobile market each time more <strong>com</strong>petitive, as much in Brazil as in the<<strong>br</strong> />

world, the necessity of having product and <strong>com</strong>petitive price <strong>com</strong>e stimulating<<strong>br</strong> />

several assembly plants to invest in this system. This because such system<<strong>br</strong> />

favors the improvement of quality and productivity levels with direct reflects on<<strong>br</strong> />

production costs reduction, among others benefits. The reached results had<<strong>br</strong> />

demonstrated clearly that Lean Manufacturing process implemented <strong>br</strong>ought an<<strong>br</strong> />

expressive improvement at production, evidenced for the wide positive<<strong>br</strong> />

evolution of almost all indicators used, related to quality, productivity, safe and<<strong>br</strong> />

costs. Is also distinguished the high level of involvement from collaborators with<<strong>br</strong> />

the adoption of Lean Manufacturing, demonstrated by the results obtained with<<strong>br</strong> />

the indicator of verification from the human resources level of usage at<<strong>br</strong> />

implementation process.<<strong>br</strong> />
