Skyspace-Lech
becomes reality
After three years of intense
planning it’s finally happening:
Skyspace-Lech,
a light-flooded space on
the mountain, designed by
the American artist James
Turrell will be built. The
complex building with be
realised together with the
architecture firm Baumschlager-Eberle,
Lustenau.
The fundraising project
was hugely popular with
Lech’s locals and about
one million Euro was
raised for the construction
of Skyspace-Lech. The
private art association
Horizon Field met all the
necessary preconditions
and is now looking forward
to opening in winter
2017/18.
Lorraine Huber, Freeride
World Champion
During the Freeride World
Tour Lech’s top freerider
Lorraine Huber made it
all the way to the top and
now she proudly bears
the title of Freeride World
Champion. The award
ceremony took place on
22
April 22nd during the
Sister Resort Party, and
Huber also received the
golden Arlbergzweig, the
Ski Club Arlberg’s highest
honour. In 2008 Huber
made her passion her
profession and today she is
one of the most successful
freerider. Congratulations!
Lech Zürs among the
30 most beautiful
mountain villages
Lech Zürs received an
extraordinary awar by
the Japanese Association
of Travel Agents (JATA).
On their list of the 30
most beautiful mountain
villages Lech Zürs made
it to the 6th place. JATA
founded its decision on the
ski resort’s charm and the

high reliability in terms of
snow cover. Lech Zürs has
an excellent reputation
abroad!
Kampen goes Lech
In March Lech Zürs was
happy to welcome its
partner town Kampen/
Sylt on the Arlberg. The
islanders brought delicious
Nordic specialties with
them that were served at
the specifically designed
lighthouse-bar. With
his relaxed Kampengrooves
Peter Kliem of
Club Rotes Kliff made sure
the locals stayed warm,
even in temperatures
below zero and snow flurries;
thanks to the many
wicker beach baskets it
really felt properly Frisian.
The motto? ‘The North Sea
is where we are.’
Lech goes Kampen
The delegation from
Kampen already visited
the Arlberg and now:
Lech goes Kampen. On
occasion of the 20th
anniversary of the partnership
Lech Alpe will
set up shop on the North
Sea island. Delicacies
from Vorarlberg like
mountain trout from Zug
and Käsknöpfle will be a
highlight for the palates –
and proper brass music
for the ears. From August
7 to 13 guests of Sylt can
look forward to alpine
flair!

Falstaff 2017: Lech Zürs
celebrates successes
An amazing total of three
restaurants from Lech
Zürs made it to the top
10 of the popular Falstaff
restaurant guide that
presents Austria’s best
restaurants. Severin’s is
new in the list and immediately
made it to the
8th place where it shares
its spot with Almhof
Schneider which was also
awarded the title best
hotel restaurant. And with
99 point Griggeler Stuba
in Lech can rejoice at a
fantastic 3rd place. Lech
Zürs once again proves its
fantastic culinary level in
a national comparison.
Positive balance
for new Flexenbahn
Despite the fact that the
Arlberg region had to
deal with difficult snow
conditions this past
season the balance fort
he new Flexenbahn is
positive. The project with
an investment volume of
45 million Euro ensured
a hefty increase in guest
numbers for Zürs.

9-hole course in Zug
valley awaits its second
season
The responsible parties
at the golf course Lech
are happy about the first
year’s balance. Now Austria’s
highest- situated golf
course starts its second
season. Starting in June
passionate golfers can
once again look forward
to the 19-hectare course’s
challenges. The golf school
at Berghof Lech helps both
beginners and seasoned
golfers improve their
handicap.
Lech Classic Festival
prolonged to six days
As a result of the positive
feedback in the past years
lovers of classical music
can now look forward
to an even longer Lech
Classic Festival in the new
church. For six days the
conductor Thomas Röser
and amazing talents like
sopranoe Jegyung Yang,
baritone Zoltán Nagy and
guitarist John Muratore
will enchant the audience.
