Four days of varied programme
The event takes place at sport.park.lech between July 6 and 9;
numerous top-class speakers will present a wide spectrum of
findings, methods, and treatments. Prof Markus M. Metka’s keynote
speech will once more open the event, after that, best-selling author
Rebekka Reinhard, PhD, will talk about the anti-aging issue. Talks
by Prof Johannes Huber, PhD, and Prof Leo Auerbach, PhD, will
provide fascinating insights into western medicine. Ethnomedicine
expert Maria Michalitsch and best-selling author Ulli Zika on the
other hand will talk about different Asian healing systems. Additionally,
physicist Prof Herbert Pietschmann, PhD will try and explain
the diverging development of Asian and western medicine.

Lech that takes place between July 6 and 9 2017.
Common characteristics and differences will be discussed
with renowned speakers from medicine, sociology,
and philosophy.
Tai chi, ayurvedic cuisine and alpine herbs
This year Medicinicum Lech will once more present a unique
framework programme: between the daily talks there will be
possibilities to improve one’s physical wellbeing with qigong, tai chi,
and shiatsu. Other than that guests can look forward to workshops
on ayurvedic cuisine, alpine medicinal plants, and Japanese forest
medicine as well as tasting of exquisite wines and the legendary
cooking show ‘I EAT FROM AUSTRIA’ which will be hosted in
cooperation with the award-winning chefs Thorsten Probost and
Christian Rescher, guaranteeing unique experiences in Lech –
apart from the talks, of course.

There is no denying it: today there is a definite trend
towards alternative healing methods. And for this
reason, the strengths and weaknesses of the three big
healing systems will be at the focus of this year’s public
health conference – and the similarities will be subject
to discussion, too. The scientific head of Medicinicum,
Prof Markus M. Metka, PhD, points out: ‘It’s important
to work on reducing prejudices and work with
each other instead of against each other. Tradition and
modernity should be united’.

Medicinicum Lech is Vorarlberg’s largest public health event and
this year it takes place at sport.park.lech between July 6 and 9,

PhD are responsible for concept and scientific direction.
At the 4th edition of Medicinicum on the Arlberg the focus
will lie on the link between western medicine, Traditional Chinese
Medicine and Ayurveda. Together with the audience,
renowned speakers will look at the numerous characteristics
of the different medical teachings.
