Die Entstehung des Bandes lässt sich aus diesen Eintragungen
exakt ermitteln, da die Heiligsprechung des
Franziskaners Berardus (16. Jan. 1481) eingetragen
ist, jedoch noch nicht die des Hl. Bonaventura von
1482 . Dessen Gedenktag wird allerdings in einer
Ergänzung am Ende der Handschrift (Bll. 311-315)
erwähnt, wohl vom Schreiber selbst.

Important and magnificent “Breviarium
Franciscanum“ of the 15th century
Book size: 28 x 21 x 7 cm.
France (Toul, Metz oder Bar le Duc), exactly dateable
1481-1482.
Of special historic significance is the handwritten ownership
note of the purveyors to the court of Henry III
and Henry IV, Philippe Desportes (1546 Chartres -
1606 Bonport/Normandy). Bound handwritten document
on parchment, opulently decorated with initials
and book illumination with a total of 12 image initials
and numerous others of very high quality, decorated
initials in Parisian style which point to a miniature
master from Lorraine from Toul, Metz or Bar le Duc.
