Impaling Charge (Ex): A spine ripper deals 3d4+5 points<br />
of damage when it makes a charge. If the spine ripper hits a<br />
Medium or smaller creature with its impaling charge, it can<br />
then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking<br />
an attack of opportunity.<br />
Impale (Ex): A spine ripper deals 3d4+5 points of piercing<br />
damage to a grabbed opponent with a successful grapple check.<br />
Spine Defense (Ex): Any creature striking the spine ripper<br />
with handheld or natural weapons takes 1d4+5 points of<br />
piercing and slashing damage from the ripper’s spines. Note<br />
that weapons with exceptional reach, such as longspears, do not<br />
endanger their users in this way. Furthermore, opponents do<br />
not gain a flanking bonus against the spine ripper, though sneak<br />
attacks can still be made.<br />

about any land and any climate.<br />
UNCoMMoN: Spine rippers hunt largely<br />
pre-dawn and in the morning, and they are<br />
usually quite groggy in late evening.<br />

migrate to one of two dozen<br />
ancestral mating grounds,<br />
where groups numbering<br />
into the hundreds<br />
can be witnessed in<br />
