<strong>the</strong> Jews after his resurrecti<strong>on</strong>, to preach salvati<strong>on</strong><br />

to <strong>the</strong> Gentiles. These types and prophecies are<br />

very str<strong>on</strong>g arguments for <strong>the</strong> truth of rehgi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

*' 41. The men of Nineve shall rise in judgment<br />

with this generati<strong>on</strong>, and shall c<strong>on</strong>demn it: because<br />

<strong>the</strong>y repented at <strong>the</strong> preaching of J<strong>on</strong>as; and, be-<br />

hold, a greater than J<strong>on</strong>as is here."<br />

Impenitency is <strong>the</strong> greatest of all misfortunes ;<br />

and into this <strong>the</strong>y must necessarily fall who hear not<br />

<strong>the</strong>mselves up<strong>on</strong> adliering to <strong>the</strong>m ; when it is this<br />

very thing which will c<strong>on</strong>demn <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> more.<br />

Whenever we read <strong>the</strong> gospel, our faith should thus<br />

dictate to us :<br />
