Location<br />

Lower column to universal joint<br />

to rack pinion and intermediate column.<br />

Steering rack assembly to<br />

chassis from impact extension.<br />

Tie rod end lock nut.<br />

Tie rod end to steering knuckle.<br />

REMOVAL<br />

1. Pull out steering wheel centre trim pad. Pad is<br />

retained by four (4) mounting pins moulded on<br />

backside of pad.<br />

2. Remove centre steering wheel mounting nut.<br />

3. Using steering wheel puller tool, remove<br />

steering wheel from column.<br />

REMOVAL<br />

1. Lower steering column to its lowest adjustable<br />

position.<br />

2. Working under the column, remove three (3)<br />

screws securing lower trim canopy to upper<br />

trim canopy —<br />

1. Position the front wheels in the straight ahead<br />

position.<br />

2. Position steering wheel in a centre position<br />

onto the steering column making sure that the<br />

steering wheel tabs on the hub of steering<br />

wheel mounting face engage the turn signal<br />

switch rotor. Install steering wheel retaining<br />

nut and torque to specification.<br />

3. Reinstall steering wheel trim cover.<br />

3. Separate upper and lower trim canopy and<br />

remove from car.<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

To complete installation, reverse the removal<br />

procedure.
