REMOVAL<br />

1 Raise car on hoist.<br />

LOWER CONTROL ARM/BUSHINGS - RIGHT OR LEFT<br />

2. Remove tyre and wheel assembly.<br />

3. With suspension at full travel, remove nut<br />

securing lower ball joint to steering knuckle<br />

and separate ball joint from steering knuckle.<br />

4. Suspend upper control arm/steering knuckle<br />

assembly inside wheel opening and position<br />

out of way.<br />

5. Remove four (4) screws securing both<br />

stabilizer bar bushing brackets to front chassis<br />

frame impact extension.<br />

6. Remove nut securing stabilizer bar to lower<br />

control arm and position stabilizer bar out of<br />

the way.<br />

7. Remove shock absorber lower mounting<br />

through bolt and nut. Remove shock absorber<br />

upper mounting nut and remove shock<br />

absorber from car.<br />

8. Place jack stand under lower control arm and<br />

lower car sufficient enough to compress coil<br />

spring. Compress spring using the service<br />

tool, raise car and remove spring from car.<br />

CAUTION: Compressed coil springs are<br />

considered very dangerous. Extreme care<br />

should be exercised to prevent personal injury.<br />

9 Remove lower control arm pivot bolt nut and<br />

remove bolt. Remove lower control arm from<br />

car.<br />

10. Using an arbor press, press out control arm<br />

bushing.<br />

Note:<br />

Service replacement lower control arms have<br />

new bushings and ball joints installed.<br />

11. Press new bushing into lower control arm.<br />

12. Press new ball joint into lower control arm and<br />

secure with new snap ring. Install and secure<br />

ball joint boot and grease ball joint via its<br />

fittings.<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

To complete installation, reverse<br />

Torque fasteners to specification.<br />

procedure.
