Rear Suspension<br />

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF REAR<br />

SPRING AND SHOCK ABSORBER<br />

Removal<br />

1. Raise rear of car on jack and place on axle<br />

stands.<br />

2. Remove rear wheels and tyre assemblies.<br />

3. Place jack under rear hub carrier to remove<br />

pressure from rear spring.<br />

4. Compress rear spring using a suitable<br />

compression tool.<br />

5. Remove lower mounting nylon nut and<br />

washers.<br />

6. Remove upper mounting nut and washers.<br />

SHOCK ABSORBER/COIL SPRING<br />

7. Pull lower part of shock absorber clear of lower<br />

pivot bolt and carefully remove spring and<br />

shock absorber assembly from the car.<br />

8. Remove shock absorber from rear spring.<br />

9. Carefully remove spring compression tool from<br />

rear spring.<br />

Note:<br />

Coil spring can be dangerous. A spring<br />

compression tool must be used at all times to fit<br />

and remove coil springs.<br />

Installation<br />

1. To reassemble, reverse removal procedure and<br />

torque components to specification.
