REMOVING HEATER WATER VALVE<br />

1. Release clip securing heater hose to water<br />

valve and pull off hose. Collect escaping<br />

coolant for re-use.<br />

2. Release, at the water valve, the hose<br />

connecting engine to valve.<br />

3. Disconnect vacuum supply pipe and remove<br />

the valve.<br />

INSTALLING HEATER WATER VALVE<br />

Reverse the removal procedure, refilling the<br />

cooling system.<br />

WARNING: Observe all safety precautions<br />

regarding freon gas refrigerant while carrying out<br />

this procedure (see refrigerant handling<br />

precautions page N:04:01).<br />

1. De-pressurize air conditioning system (refer to<br />

page N:07:01).<br />

2. Ensure that the system is de-pressurized and<br />

disconnect condenser hoses using two<br />

wrenches of the correct size. Cap the ends of<br />

the hoses and the condenser connections<br />

immediately after disconnection.<br />

3. Remove screws securing air duct to body.<br />

4. Remove nuts and bolts securing air duct to<br />

spoiler.<br />

5. Remove the nut, washer and rubber buffer<br />

securing each radiator lower support bracket to<br />

the radiator.<br />

6. Remove three bolts securing each radiator<br />

lower support bracket to the frame, disconnect<br />

the horn leads, and remove radiator brackets,<br />

horns and horn brackets Fig. 46.<br />

7. Remove air duct by drawing downwards.<br />

8. Provide alternative support for the radiator<br />

before removing both upper support brackets,<br />

by releasing the upper bracket/radiator nut and<br />

the bracket/chassis bolt.<br />

9. Lower radiator sufficiently to gain access to<br />

top two nuts securing condenser to radiator.<br />
