ANGULAR TIGHTENING OF MAIN BEARING<br />

CAPS<br />

Torque tighten the 8 nuts in sequence starting<br />

from centre main bearing cap and working<br />

outwards. (Fig. 85)<br />

Slip the graduated disc over the socket before<br />

fitting the torque wrench.<br />

Turn the graduated disc clockwise until the<br />

locking stem rests against a solid object which will<br />

prevent the disc from turning.<br />

Adjust the moving pointer to the angular<br />

tightening value 75° for main bearing cap nuts.<br />

Tighten the nuts until the moving pointer reaches<br />

"0".<br />

Repeat the above operation on each nut.<br />

REAR PLATE<br />

Offer up the rear plate with its paper gasket. It is<br />

located laterally by dowel (A). Tighten bottom<br />

bolts (1) first followed by the 6 female capscrews.<br />
