FRONT FASCIA - Fig. 10<br />

Removal<br />

1. Pull front grille forward to release clips, and<br />

remove.<br />

2. Working through grille opening, disconnect<br />

luggage compartment lamp harness<br />

connectors. Remove screw securing centre<br />

support bracket to fascia.<br />

3. Raise hood and peel back luggage<br />

compartment to left front fender weather strip.<br />

Remove one screw securing ground strap.<br />

4. Remove nuts securing both left and right hood<br />

hinges to hood.<br />

5. With the aid of an assistant, loosen both left<br />

and right gas strut to hood retaining clips.<br />

Disengage gas struts and remove hood<br />

assembly.<br />

6. Remove screws securing upper fascia<br />

reinforcement to front end panel.<br />

7. Raise car on hoist. Remove both left and right<br />

fascia to underbody retaining brackets.<br />

8. Remove five screws securing lower edge of<br />

fascia to front spoiler.<br />

9. Lower car from hoist. Remove both left and<br />

right park and turn signal lamp assemblies.<br />

10. With the aid of an assistant, lift front fascia<br />

over headlamps and remove.<br />

BUMPERS AND FASCIAS<br />

11. Place fascia on work bench and remove fascia<br />

to reinforcement retainer strip assembiy and<br />

reinforcement.<br />

Installation<br />

1. Install fascia reinforcement and retainer strip<br />

into replacement fascia.<br />

2. With the aid of an assistant, position fascia<br />

over headlamps and front end impact<br />

absorber.<br />

Note:<br />

Front fascia to front end panel assembly fit<br />

should be as close as possible. To accomplish<br />

this, some front fender and hood alignment<br />

may be necessary. It may also be necessary to<br />

perform some fascia rework 1<br />

3. Check for interference of front and hardware<br />

with front fascia. Correct if necessary.<br />

4. With the aid of an assistant, push fascia<br />

rearward until fascia makes contact with front<br />

fenders. Install screws securing reinforcement<br />

to front end panel.<br />

5. Raise car on hoist and install five screws<br />

securing lower edge of fascia to front spoiler.<br />

6. Position and secure left and right fascia to<br />

underbody retaining brackets.<br />

7. Lower car on hoist.<br />

8. Position and secure hood to hood hinges.<br />

Connect both gas struts and retaining clips.<br />

9. Close and open hood. Be sure hood and fascia<br />

do not rub. Check hood alignment.<br />

10. Install ground strap to fender and secure<br />

weather strip, with specified adhesive.<br />

11. Working through grille opening, secure center<br />

fascia support bracket. Connect luggage<br />

compartment lamp harness.<br />

12. Position and secure front park and turn signal<br />

lamp assemblies.
