M:10:02 Electrical System and Instruments<br />

REMOVING INSTRUMENT CLUSTER<br />

To remove instrument cluster from car see section<br />

"P" (Body).<br />

Dismantling — Fig. 37<br />

• Note bulb holder colours and positions before<br />

removing.<br />

• Remove all bulb holders (1) by twisting counter<br />

clockwise and pulling out.<br />

• Remove all nuts (2) securing the printed circuit<br />

(4) noting those used with washers (3) and<br />

carefully pull off printed circuit (4) from locating<br />

pegs. Ensure the printed circuit (4) is not<br />

contaminated with greasy finger marks, etc.<br />

• Release screw (5) securing trip re-set knob (6),<br />

remove knob (6) and spacer sleeve (7).<br />

• Remove six screws (8) securing front window<br />

(9) to instrument casing (10).<br />

• Release three nuts (11) on rear of casing<br />

securing tachometer (12).<br />

• Remove two screws (13) and rubber washers<br />

(14) on rear of casing (10) securing speedometer<br />

(15) and remove speedometer (15).<br />

• Withdraw oil/fuel gauge assembly (16).<br />

• Release screw (17) on L.H. front securing mask<br />

(18) to casing (10) and remove.<br />

• Release two screws (19) at rear and one screw<br />

(20) at R.H. front, securing R.H. mask (21).<br />

Refitting<br />

REVERSE THE REMOVAL PROCEDURE.<br />
