REMOVAL<br />

1. Raise car on hoist.<br />

2. Remove tyre and wheel assembly.<br />

3. When working on left side, disconnect the<br />

speedometer cable.<br />

4. Remove both brake caliper mounting bolts and<br />

position caliper assembly out of the way.<br />

Caliper must not be suspended by brake hose.<br />

5. When working on left side, remove<br />

speedometer drive cap from centre of hub.<br />

6. Remove hub nut and "D" washer.<br />

7. Remove hub and brake disc assembly.<br />

8. Using a tie rod end remover, disconnect tie rod<br />

end from steering knuckle.<br />

9. Remove brake disc spacer.<br />

10. With front suspension at full travel, remove nut<br />

securing lower ball joint to steering knuckle<br />

and separate ball joint from steering knuckle.<br />

11. Remove nut securing upper ball joint to<br />

steering knuckle and separate ball joint from<br />

steering knuckle. Remove steering knuckle<br />

assembly.<br />

WHEEL SPINDLE<br />

12. Remove spindle retaining nut. (On left side, nut<br />

is removed with speedometer 90° angle drive.)<br />

13. Press spindle from steering knuckle as shown<br />

in Fig. 10<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

1. Position spindle into steering knuckle. Install<br />

spindle retaining nut and torque to<br />

specification.<br />

2. To complete installation, reverse removal<br />

procedures starting with Step 11 and torque<br />

fasteners to specification.
