N:08:06 Heating and Air Conditioning<br />

REMOVING AIR CONDITIONING<br />

ACCUMULATOR<br />

WARNING: Observe safety precautions regarding<br />

handling of freon gas refrigerant while undertaking<br />

this procedure.<br />

1. De-pressurize air conditioning system (refer to<br />

N:07:01).<br />

2. Raise the car on a hoist lift.<br />

3. Remove right hand front wheel.<br />

4. Pull back protective boot from accumulator<br />

low pressure switch and disconnect leads from<br />

spade terminals.<br />

5. Using two wrenches disconnect compressor<br />

hose from bottom of accumulator and cap<br />

both connections immediately.<br />

6. Release the accumulator mounting bracket<br />

from the body.<br />

7. Remove access cover at the back of the spare<br />

wheel well to gain access to evaporator/<br />

accumulator top connection. Using two<br />

wrenches disconnect the joint, and cap both<br />

connections immediately.<br />

8. Withdraw accumulator.<br />
