Simple Conductivity Measurement<br />

Fig. 9–1, page 9–3 shows how the <strong>Process</strong> <strong>Unit</strong><br />

<strong>73</strong> <strong>LF</strong> is configured for simple conductivity measurement<br />

with automatic temperature detection<br />

and conductivity signal evaluation by a connected<br />

recorder.<br />

You can connect 2-electrode cells or 4-electrode<br />

cells to the <strong>Process</strong> <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>73</strong> <strong>LF</strong>. Cell selection depends<br />

on the measurement range:<br />

For measuring low conductivity values, you<br />

should use 2-electrode cells (e.g. Models<br />

SE 604 or ZU 0071, see page 14–12, 14–9)<br />

For measuring high conductivity values, you<br />

should use 4-electrode cells (e.g. Model SE<br />

600, SE 602 or SE 603, see page 14–4)<br />

Especially for 2-electrode cells, the range not<br />

only depends on the cell constant but also on the<br />

electrode surface. For information on selection of<br />

suitable cell constants, refer to ISO 7887 (DIN<br />

38 404.1), for example.<br />
