The orig<strong>in</strong>al immediate recall total (i.e. <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g spoken and written tasks) was<br />

therefore considered reflective <strong>of</strong> the overall ability to learn the new vocabulary<br />

by participants. Therefore the orig<strong>in</strong>al raw scores will be used for all further<br />

analyses.<br />

In order to observe if the learn<strong>in</strong>g demonstrated by participants <strong>in</strong> immediate<br />

recall tasks was reta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> long-term memory, participants were re-assessed<br />

three to five days follow<strong>in</strong>g the f<strong>in</strong>al tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g session. Ten participants agreed to<br />

participate <strong>in</strong> the delayed recall assessment tasks (P3 and C1-C9). Details <strong>of</strong><br />

performance on all delayed recall tasks are presented <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dividual<br />
