5.11 PARTICIPANT C6<br />

Participant C6’s personal details are presented <strong>in</strong> Table 5.20. He lived with his<br />

wife and despite residual moderate upper and lower limb dom<strong>in</strong>ant hemiparesis<br />

was fully mobile and <strong>in</strong>dependent. C6 had a history <strong>of</strong> heart problems s<strong>in</strong>ce his<br />

early 40s. He had worn a hear<strong>in</strong>g aid for many years prior to his stroke and<br />

sometimes required repetition. He was actively <strong>in</strong>volved with a charity for poststroke<br />

people. He was also <strong>in</strong> the process <strong>of</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g his autobiography.<br />
