would evidence new learn<strong>in</strong>g through picture/ word match<strong>in</strong>g tasks, number <strong>of</strong><br />

syllables and syllable match<strong>in</strong>g. C7’s narration <strong>of</strong> the C<strong>in</strong>derella story is<br />

presented <strong>in</strong> Appendix 5.3h – she was unable to attempt written narration.<br />

5.12.1.4 Rehearsal and consolidation <strong>of</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g<br />

C7 rehearsed the new vocabulary for 45% <strong>of</strong> the time allocated for <strong>in</strong>dependent<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g. Dur<strong>in</strong>g this time she looked at the details and listened to the audio<br />

record<strong>in</strong>g a number <strong>of</strong> times for each session.<br />

5.12.2 Demonstration <strong>of</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g the new vocabulary<br />

C7’s performance on each assessment task is presented <strong>in</strong> Table 5.23 below<br />

with a summary <strong>of</strong> her ability to learn the new vocabulary for both immediate<br />

and delayed recall assessments.<br />

the new words <strong>in</strong> written form. While C7 recognised 15 (listen<strong>in</strong>g) and 20<br />
