5.5 PARTICIPANT C1<br />

Participant C1’s personal pr<strong>of</strong>ile is presented <strong>in</strong> Table 5.8. C1 had moderate<br />

right-sided residual paresis and lived alone <strong>in</strong>dependently. S<strong>in</strong>ce her stroke she<br />

had been actively <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> a charity for young post-stroke people. She also<br />

recently completed a college course to help improve writ<strong>in</strong>g and <strong>of</strong>fice skills and<br />

had returned to work with reduced responsibilities. C1 was discharged from<br />

speech and language therapy at the time <strong>of</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vestigation.<br />
