2004 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show<br />
The show will offer participants products and services from nearly 1500 exhibitors,<br />
complemented by a full schedule of educational sessions, numerous networking<br />
opportunities and special events. The 89 th annual edition, which runs November 13 -16,<br />
2004, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is expected to draw some<br />
45,000 lodging and culinary professionals from around the world.<br />
Participating exhibitors will be presented in five targeted markets: Decor, Technology,<br />
Restaurant, Flavors and Essentials. New to the mix in 2004 is the Luxury Product<br />
Collection- a focus area dedicated exclusively to showcasing premium products and<br />
services.<br />
The 2004 educational program will include more than 40 sessions covering both<br />
hospitality and restaurant topics. The hospitality sessions will kick off with a full day of<br />
programming on Saturday, November 13. Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala of CNN’s<br />
Crossfire will headline that day’s keynote luncheon. Conference highlights will include an<br />
Industry Summit and Industry Outlook, followed by break-out sessions addressing<br />
government advocacy; leadership skills; lodging food & beverage; sales and marketing;<br />
security; student career sessions; and technology. Additional hospitality sessions<br />
covering these topics and more are scheduled throughout the remaining days of the<br />
show.<br />
New products and services debuting at the Show will be in the spotlight with the<br />
presentation of the 9 th annual Editor’s Choice Awards for Best New Products. Awards will<br />
be presented in five categories Décor, Technology, Restaurant, Flavors and Essentialswith<br />
one company receiving the “Kenneth F. Hine Best of Show” Award for its new<br />
introduction. Winners will be announced at the opening ceremony on Sunday, November<br />
14.<br />
Numerous networking opportunities and special events will round out the market<br />
experience for IH/M&RS Chef’s Championships, IH/M&RS Demonstration Kitchen, Salon<br />
of Culinary Arts, IH/M&RS Gold Key Awards for Hospitality and Design, the IH/ M&RS<br />
Bookstore sponsored by Kitchen Arts and Letters and the IH/M&RS Technology<br />
Innovation Center.<br />
In addition, top hospitality organizations will present a series of exciting after-hours<br />
networking events in and around Manhattan, including the Network of Executive Women<br />
in Hospitality (NEWIH) 14 th Annual Gala Fundraising Auction & Party; the Foodservice<br />
Industry Networking Reception; Hotels magazine Hotelier of the Year Reception; and the<br />
Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) “Big Apple Stars” Awards.<br />
At the same time, the return of the AH & LA Conference will offer a forum for U. S,<br />
lodging leaders to gather and return to New York City during the IH/M&RS, further adding<br />
to the overall market experience for lodging professionals. AH & LA also will host their<br />
