Enabling A-GPS with TSIP<br />

1. Allow the receiver to run long enough to collect a current almanac.<br />

Note – It takes 12,5 minutes of uninterrupted Copernicus operation to collect<br />

almanac from the satellites.<br />

2. Use packet 0 x 26 to request the health of the receiver. The response packets<br />

0x46 and 0x4B indicate when the almanac is complete and current.<br />

3. Use packet 0x38 to request the almanac and the ephemeris. The receiver<br />

responds with packet 0 x 58.<br />

4. Use packet 0 x 21 to request time from the receiver. The receiver responds with<br />

packet 0x 41. This data can be used to set your own off-board clock.<br />

5. Use packets 0x42, 0x4A, 0x83 0r 0x84 to request a position from the receiver.<br />

To upload this information back to the receiver, follow this procedures in the<br />

specified order:<br />

1. Upload the time using TSIP packet 0x2E. Wait for upload confirmation report<br />

packet 0x41.<br />

2. Upload position using TSIP packet 0x31 or 0x32. No confirmation report<br />

packet available.<br />

3. Upload the ephemeris using TSIP packet 0x38. Wait for the upload<br />

confirmation report TSIP packet 0x58.<br />
