See also health service support; joint force.(<strong>JP</strong> 4-<strong>02</strong>)joint functions — Related capabilities <strong>and</strong> activities placed into six basic groups <strong>of</strong>comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control, intelligence, fires, movement <strong>and</strong> maneuver, protection, <strong>and</strong>sustainment to help joint force comm<strong>and</strong>ers synchronize, integrate, <strong>and</strong> direct jointoperations. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-0)joint information system — Integrates incident information <strong>and</strong> public affairs into acohesive organization designed to provide consistent, coordinated, timely informationduring a crisis or incident. Also called JIS. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-28)joint integrated prioritized target list — A prioritized list <strong>of</strong> targets approved <strong>and</strong>maintained by the joint force comm<strong>and</strong>er. Targets <strong>and</strong> priorities are derived from therecommendations <strong>of</strong> components <strong>and</strong> other appropriate agencies, in conjunction withtheir proposed operations supporting the joint force comm<strong>and</strong>er’s objectives <strong>and</strong>guidance. Also called JIPTL. See also target. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-60)joint intelligence — Intelligence produced by elements <strong>of</strong> more than one Service <strong>of</strong> thesame nation. (<strong>JP</strong> 2-0)joint intelligence architecture — A dynamic, flexible structure that consists <strong>of</strong> the DefenseJoint Intelligence Operations Center, combatant comm<strong>and</strong> joint intelligence operationscenters, <strong>and</strong> subordinate joint task force intelligence operations centers or jointintelligence support elements. This architecture encompasses automated dataprocessing equipment capabilities, communications <strong>and</strong> information requirements, <strong>and</strong>responsibilities to provide national, theater, <strong>and</strong> tactical comm<strong>and</strong>ers with the full range<strong>of</strong> intelligence required for planning <strong>and</strong> conducting operations.
