(<strong>JP</strong> 3-<strong>02</strong>)l<strong>and</strong>ing group comm<strong>and</strong>er — In amphibious operations, the <strong>of</strong>ficer designated by thecomm<strong>and</strong>er, l<strong>and</strong>ing force as the single tactical comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>of</strong> a subordinate taskorganization capable <strong>of</strong> conducting l<strong>and</strong>ing operations against a position or group <strong>of</strong>positions. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-<strong>02</strong>)l<strong>and</strong>ing sequence table — A document that incorporates the detailed plans for ship-toshoremovement <strong>of</strong> nonscheduled units. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-<strong>02</strong>)l<strong>and</strong>ing ship — An assault ship which is designed for long sea voyages <strong>and</strong> for rapidunloading over <strong>and</strong> on to a beach. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-<strong>02</strong>)l<strong>and</strong>ing signalman enlisted — Enlisted man responsible for ensuring that helicopters, onsignal, are safely started, engaged, launched, recovered, <strong>and</strong> shut down. Also calledLSE. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-04)l<strong>and</strong>ing signals <strong>of</strong>ficer — Officer responsible for the visual control <strong>of</strong> aircraft in theterminal phase <strong>of</strong> the approach immediately prior to l<strong>and</strong>ing.
