See also mission. (<strong>JP</strong> 5-0)mission type order — 1. An order issued to a lower unit that includes the accomplishment<strong>of</strong> the total mission assigned to the higher headquarters. 2. An order to a unit toperform a mission without specifying how it is to be accomplished. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-50)mobile inshore undersea warfare unit — A Navy surveillance unit that provides seawardsecurity to joint logistics over-the-shore operations from either a port or harborcomplex or unimproved beach sites. The mobile inshore undersea warfare unit isequipped with mobile radar, sonar, <strong>and</strong> communications equipment located within amobile van. Also called MIUWU. (<strong>JP</strong> 4-01.6)mobile mine — A mine propelled to its laying position by propulsion equipment, such as atorpedo that sinks at the end <strong>of</strong> its run placing the mine. See also mine. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-34)mobile security force — A dedicated security force designed to defeat Level I <strong>and</strong> II threatson a base <strong>and</strong>/or base cluster. Also called MSF. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-10)mobile training team — A team consisting <strong>of</strong> one or more US military or civilianpersonnel sent on temporary duty, <strong>of</strong>ten to a foreign nation, to give instruction. Themission <strong>of</strong> the team is to train indigenous personnel to operate, maintain, <strong>and</strong> employweapons <strong>and</strong> support systems, or to develop a self-training capability in a particularskill. The Secretary <strong>of</strong> Defense may direct a team to train either military or civilianindigenous personnel, depending upon host-nation requests. Also called MTT.mobility — A quality or capability <strong>of</strong> military forces which permits them to move fromplace to place while retaining the ability to fulfill their primary mission. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-17)mobility air forces — The mobility air forces are comprised <strong>of</strong> those air components <strong>and</strong>Service components that are assigned air mobility forces <strong>and</strong>/or that routinely exercisecomm<strong>and</strong> authority over their operations. Also called MAF. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-17)mobility corridor — Areas where a force will be canalized due to terrain restrictions. Theyallow military forces to capitalize on the principles <strong>of</strong> mass <strong>and</strong> speed <strong>and</strong> are thereforerelatively free <strong>of</strong> obstacles.
