As Amended Through 15 March 2012joint terminal attack controller — A qualified (certified) Service member who, from aforward position, directs the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support andother offensive air operations. A qualified and current joint terminal attack controllerwill be recognized across the Department of Defense as capable and authorized toperform terminal attack control. Also called JTAC.
