As Amended Through 15 March 2012contractors authorized to accompany the force — Contingency contractor employees <strong>and</strong>all tiers <strong>of</strong> subcontractor employees who are specifically authorized through theircontract to accompany the force <strong>and</strong> have protected status in accordance withinternational conventions. Also called CAAF. (<strong>JP</strong> 4-10)contractors not authorized to accompany the force — Contingency contractor employees<strong>and</strong> all tiers <strong>of</strong> subcontractor employees who are not authorized through their contractto accompany the force <strong>and</strong> do not have protected status in accordance withinternational conventions. Also called non-CAAF. (<strong>JP</strong> 4-10)contract support integration — The coordination <strong>and</strong> synchronization <strong>of</strong> contracted supportexecuted in a designated operational area in support <strong>of</strong> the joint force. (<strong>JP</strong> 4-10)contract termination — Defense procurement: the cessation or cancellation, in whole or inpart, <strong>of</strong> work under a prime contract or a subcontract thereunder for the convenience <strong>of</strong>,or at the option <strong>of</strong>, the government, or due to failure <strong>of</strong> the contractor to perform inaccordance with the terms <strong>of</strong> the contract (default). (<strong>JP</strong> 4-10)control — 1. Authority that may be less than full comm<strong>and</strong> exercised by a comm<strong>and</strong>er overpart <strong>of</strong> the activities <strong>of</strong> subordinate or other organizations. (<strong>JP</strong> 1) 2. In mapping,charting, <strong>and</strong> photogrammetry, a collective term for a system <strong>of</strong> marks or objects on theEarth or on a map or a photograph, whose positions or elevations (or both) have been orwill be determined. (<strong>JP</strong> 2-03) 3. Physical or psychological pressures exerted with theintent to assure that an agent or group will respond as directed. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-0) 4. Anindicator governing the distribution <strong>and</strong> use <strong>of</strong> documents, information, or material.Such indicators are the subject <strong>of</strong> intelligence community agreement <strong>and</strong> arespecifically defined in appropriate regulations. (<strong>JP</strong> 3-52)controlled firing area — An area in which ordnance firing is conducted under controlledconditions so as to eliminate hazard to aircraft in flight. See also restricted area.controlled information — 1. Information conveyed to an adversary in a deceptionoperation to evoke desired appreciations. 2. Information <strong>and</strong> indicators deliberatelyconveyed or denied to foreign targets to evoke invalid <strong>of</strong>ficial estimates that result inforeign <strong>of</strong>ficial actions advantageous to US interests <strong>and</strong> objectives.
