These threatsinclude nonbattle injuries, combat stress responses, weapons <strong>of</strong> mass destruction, <strong>and</strong>other threats to the health <strong>and</strong> readiness <strong>of</strong> military personnel. Communicable diseasesinclude anthropod-, vector-, food-, waste-, <strong>and</strong> waterborne diseases. Preventativemedicine measures include field sanitation, medical surveillance, pest <strong>and</strong> vectorcontrol, disease risk assessment, environmental <strong>and</strong> occupational health surveillance,waste (human, hazardous, <strong>and</strong> medical) disposal, food safety inspection, <strong>and</strong> potablewater surveillance.
