These threatsinclude nonbattle injuries, combat stress responses, weapons of mass destruction, andother threats to the health and readiness of military personnel. Communicable diseasesinclude anthropod-, vector-, food-, waste-, and waterborne diseases. Preventativemedicine measures include field sanitation, medical surveillance, pest and vectorcontrol, disease risk assessment, environmental and occupational health surveillance,waste (human, hazardous, and medical) disposal, food safety inspection, and potablewater surveillance.
