The Lord will not hold youresponsible for it if you do what you can to correct the evil. But do notcommit sin yourselves by withholding from the Lord His own property.SummationIf the conference business is not managed correctly, God will hold usresponsible for supporting it with our tithe if we do not try to correct the evil.ConclusionThe issue Ellen White was addressing in the quote Mr. Prewitt used is thatpeople had stopped paying tithe altogether because they had lost confidence inthe Conference. This is a completely different issue to the counsel Erniereceived in the “Stand Fast” dream.FanaticismPrewitt says: (see Appendix I)“With these and a few other statements it is easy enough to picturewhat Satan is trying to do. First, he works through a hyper imagination tocreate an impressible ‘prophet.’ Then he advocates being led by the‘Spirit.’ Then he pours out a mighty gushing of this kind of enthusiasm, afalse latter rain of dreams and visions.It is that tidal wave that Ellen White sought to avert.
