He continuedbeing a ‘nominal Adventist’ for atime [after that],—and then severalevents occurred in his life and hebegan hating God.”On the night of December 9, 2006,Ernie had some kind of illness andthought he was going to die that night—and he seemed to reach a climax in hishatred of God at that time. After I got sick,we lost everything, we lost ourhouse, all of our personalbelongings, the fine cars that wehad, all of our earthly treasures thatwe think about now, we lost themall because I could not support ourfamily. And so we lost all that,and I took all that out on Godand at first started off asking Himwhy this was happening, and thenover the course of two years Istarted blaming Him foreverything that was happening.“And on December 9th, Iremember going to sleep that nightasking God to take my life, that Iwas unhappy, and I know that Hesays that He loves me but I did notfeel loved. And I begged Him and Ihad been begging Him to pleasecome down and talk to me like Hedoes the other prophets and theother people in the Bible. But I
