Eitherway, he lied to one of us.”FactErnie never lied to either of them. This has already been explained earlier inthis chapter. Laura Lee provides no proof to support her statements. Sheassumes the reason why Ernie accepted he was wrong on the 144,000 andprovides no proof to support it. There is a big difference between anassumption and the truth. The truth is that David Starkey provided the evidenceErnie needed to understand the correct viewpoint. Ernie was actually distraughtbecause he did not want to lead anyone astray on this subject. It was notbecause he was concerned about losing supporters. (Note: Later, in the “TwoCars” dream, Ernie was told that Ellen White would be with, not a part of, the144,000.)God says:Matthew 7:1-2Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, yeshall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured toyou again.Selected Messages, Book 1, p. 64In another passage from the book A Word to the Little Flock, I speak ofscenes upon the new earth, and state that I there saw holy men of old,"Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Noah, Daniel and many like them." Because Ispeak of having seen these men, our opponents conjecture that I thenbelieved in the immortality of the soul and that having since changed myviews upon this point, I found it necessary to suppress that passage.
