Theme: “Enhancing Organisational Vitality through Further Development of QC Circle Activities”,<br />

Yokohama, Japan<br />

Japan determined to fulfill its role to the best of its ability to lead the world in manufacturing at ICQCC’11-<br />

Yokohama. The convention was organised by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE). The<br />

objective of this convention was to provide a platform for practitioners of QC from different countries<br />

and regions to exchange views and experiences on initiatives to intensify activities related to improving<br />

<strong>Productivity</strong> and Quality (P&Q) at the organisational level. The theme for the convention was “Enhancing<br />

Organisational Vitality Through Further Development of QC Circle Activities”. It was highlighted that team<br />

effort had contributed to the success of the QC Circles in organisations. This breaks down the demarcation<br />

between departments, divisions and any hierarchy which may lead to specific identification of problems<br />

and fast solutions as there are no barriers. A total of 1,168 delegates from 14 nations participated in this<br />

event. The awards presented during the convention were Excellent, Outstanding or Meritorious.<br />

c. ICQCC 2012, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA<br />

14th - 17th October, 2012<br />

Theme: “From Ideas To Reality “<br />

<strong>Malaysia</strong>, for the second time will be hosting ICQCC 2012 from 14 to 17 October, 2012 in conjunction<br />

with the Annual <strong>Productivity</strong> and Innovation Conference (APIC) in Kuala Lumpur. The event will be<br />

held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Participating as observers, circle<br />

members, or paper presenters are invited to join this event and making it a reality for all.<br />

Objectives of this convention are to:<br />

• Propagating innovative initiatives and creative projects to enhance the effectiveness of service<br />

delivery system in organisation;<br />

• Sharing knowledge and experiences in implementing innovative projects and adding values to<br />

the QCC project; and<br />

• Providing a platform for benchmarking activities in terms of comparative levels of achievement<br />

and organisational impact among the participating countries.<br />

The theme of ICQCC 2012 is “From Ideas to Reality” corresponds with the gist of QCC in bringing ideas of<br />

improvement and the continuity of development into reality which will be beneficial to the organisations.<br />

A total of 1,200 participants from 12 countries are expected to participate in this event. The awards will<br />

be categorised into 3-star, 2-star and 1-star.<br />
