Business Excellence Framework. The membership<br />
will facilitate intervention and the nurturing of<br />
companies to alleviate their business performance<br />
and indirectly prepare them to become a global<br />
player.<br />
Among the programmes proposed in 2012 are:<br />
• Business Excellence for the Services<br />
Sector<br />
Recognising the importance of the services sector’s<br />
contribution to the economy, a new Business<br />
Excellence instrument for the services sector will<br />
be developed in 2012. The objective is to enhance<br />
the capacity of the services providers to meet the<br />
challenges of liberalisation and the dynamic global<br />
economic changes.<br />
• Strengthening Strategic Alliances<br />
and Collaboration<br />
<strong>MPC</strong> has identified several GLCs and large anchor<br />
companies to intensify its efforts in promoting the<br />
Business Excellence Framework.<br />
• Higher Education Institutions<br />
<strong>MPC</strong> proposed to introduce the Business Excellence<br />
Framework in two modules:<br />
i. To the post-graduates as part of their practical<br />
business projects (hands-on); and<br />
ii. To the undergraduate as one of their elective<br />

subjects. This is with the objective of giving<br />
prior exposure to those in pre-employment<br />
so that they can embrace the philosophy<br />
of business excellence and put them into<br />
practice when they start work.<br />
• Regional/International<br />
Collaboration<br />
Exposure to international practices and acquired<br />
knowledge of best practices and benchmarks in<br />
the region for example Singapore and Thailand.<br />
• Certification Programmes<br />
<strong>MPC</strong> is introducing Certification Programmes for<br />
Business Excellence practitioners, assessors and<br />
consultants. The objective of the programme is to<br />
develop expertise and expand the capabilities of<br />
the Business Excellence Communities.<br />

MANAGEMENT CULTURE<br />
Knowledge Management (KM) is an integrated<br />
approach and multi-disciplinary system for creating,<br />
sharing and applying knowledge to enhance<br />
organisational productivity, competitiveness,<br />
profitability and growth.<br />
KM two key functions are firstly, knowledge<br />
transformation which is taking the initiatives by<br />
translating information and data into knowledge<br />
through data analysis, provide real time knowledge<br />
for effective decision making and expand both<br />
tangible and intangible productivity indicator<br />
